Ancient Style 22kt Gold Single Loop-in-Loop Chain Bracelet
The most ancient of the woven chain styles is the single loop-in-loop. The
fundamental construction of the open weave is the basis for all woven
loop-in-loop chains. These chains are among the most beautiful worn by the pharaohs
and their royal wives.
This chain type was used from the early Bronze Age through the end of the Middle Ages.
The earliest chains were discovered in the royal graves of Ur from around 3000 BC.
If you have access to the book "Gold of the Pharaohs",
page 210, (see bibliography page), you can see how it was used with a Scarab
pendant for Psusennes I.
This bracelet measures 8" (20 cm) and is 3/8" (.5 cm) wide, and weighs a substantial 13.2 grams
